DAI SOKE RICHARD BLACK 

9TH DEGREE BLACK BELT

Master Richard Black has been studying Martial Arts since 1971 in various styles Master Black has dedicated the past 35 + years sharing his knowledge with his students (Men, Woman and Children). He has trained and taught in many of the combat arts such stick and knife fighting. He has also taught many seminars on De-escalation and disarmament. 

 Master Black while teaching and cultivating hundreds of instructors that have gone on to teach as instructors for United Studio of Self Defense as well as teaching for many other martial arts studios throughout the United States. He has molded self-defense techniques for all demographics and of all different physical abilities. His understanding of martial arts is instrumental in him breaking down techniques to make them easy to learn and effective with use. 

In 2013, in China at the Shaolin Temple, he was promoted to Hanshi, teacher of Masters. In 2018 he was promoted to the rank of 9th Degree Black Belt - Hachidan at the Shaolin Temple. He has served as United Studio of Self Defense senior Instructor for all USSD. 

At the 2022 USSD Master Extravaganza, Professor Mattera announced that Hanshi Black was promoted to the head of United Studios of Self Defense by being bestowing the honorable title of Dai Soke. 

Dai Soke Black currently resides in Las Vegas and continues to train high ranking black belts throughout the county.
